Healthy Does Not Necessarily Mean Good for Fat Loss!

By Eugene Thong CSCS

..................................................................................

A day doesn’t go by without having to explain this concept. It may be one of the most misunderstood facets of fat loss.

“I eat right, but I can’t lose weight”

Ok. Lets take this statement and examine it for a second.

It could mean that they are eating perfectly, and their metabolisms are so damaged and sluggish that they need a great deal of exercise just to get things going again.

It could mean that they eat healthy foods, and just eat
too many calories worth of those healthy foods.

It could mean that they eat foods that they have been told are healthy, such as trail mix, granola, or Jamba Juice smoothies, but create a fat storing environment.

I have found that the third meaning is the one that I encounter most.  I repeat: “Healthy” does not equate to “fat loss”!

Do you have to be healthy to maximize fat loss

Indeed you do, but it does not require eating so-called “healthy” foods.  Most of what is advertised as healthy is actually high in calories and sugar.

We’ve already explored how foods high in sugar create a negative environment for fat loss to occur in.

The basics of truly healthy eating are very simple: the majority of the diet should be comprised of “meat, leaves, and berries”; in other words, nutrient dense foods that are high in fiber and quality sources of protein and fat.

There are tons of places on the web where you can find the real deal on fitness (like this site you’re currently reading *ahem). Want an easy, painless, NO-COST method to keep abreast of the latest in fat loss, body sculpting, health, and nutrition? Sign up here for our weekly newsletter (heck, we even GIVE you something to join – our latest Special Report: The Dark Side of Dieting. It details 21 things you probably didn’t even realize were keeping you from losing those inches.)

You'll also receive the Fat Burning Foods Chart with Calorie Count that was designed to use in combination with the Beach Day Program.

And... you'll have have access to us to ask questions regarding fitness!

If you're truly looking to lose weight fast, I suggest you head over to read our page on black book of secrets. It includes 61 fat loss tips, tricks and techniques. It is a very good investment.

How many hours at the gym is enough to lose weight?

Is cardio the best way to get toned? I'm a mom just starting to get back into working out after a long layoff off due to work and family commitments. I haven't been to the gym in a little over 2 years even though I kept the membership and I feel like I'm starting from scratch. I need to lose about 30 pounds and want to shape up as soon as possible.

I heard a good way to do abdominal exercises is on a Swiss Ball. Is it better than doing crunches with an ab roller or on the floor?
