Michael Collins: There are several things you can do to
increase your running speed.
1) Run. Yup, running is a skill. There are
certain biomechanics involved in optimal running form, and fine tuning them
would be your first step.
2) Train your body with heavy, compound movements. Heavy squats and deadlifts will add power and the ability to generate speed. Don't forget other movements such as dips and pullups, as the upper body plays a significant role in speed generation. I suggest adding weight to these exercises as they get easy (able to perform 8 reps).
3) Lose body fat. The less baggage you're carrying around, the faster you'll fly. Simple physics.
