During a
30 minute cardiovascular session, which will burn the most calories,
treadmill or the exercise bike?

Michael Collins:
Whatever form of cardiovascular training you choose, the number of
calories you burn during a particular session will be greatly influenced
by the amount of effort you exert (Intensity).
On the machine, it may show that running on the treadmill for 30 minutes
will burn more calories than recumbent biking- but that's only true if
the level of intensity you are working at is greater. Intensity is a
greater factor of calorie burn that duration of type of activity.
You can run at a moderate intensity for 30 minutes and burn less calories
than you would
running 20 minutes at a greater intensity.
The greater the intensity, the greater the calorie burn by the end of the day.
