I’m going on vacation in 6 weeks and need to lose a few pounds. Should I double up on the cardio I’m doing?

 ..................................................................................

Michael Collins: The biggest key in losing “a few pounds” comes down to managing your calorie intake.

Cardio and weight training play key roles in fat loss, but your diet will have the biggest immediate impact.

Before increasing your cardio, let’s zoom in on your eating habits.

Fat loss begins with optimizing your metabolism.

Here are 3 effective ways to optimize your metabolism with simple food awareness

1) Select high nutritional value foods that are supportive to fat loss

2) The number of meals you eat (Are you eating 3 squares a day or “grazing” 5-6 time per day?

3) Timing of your meals (are you eating every 3-4 hours to manage your blood sugar levels and cravings?)

After all, what’s easier?

Eating 1 less Boston Crème Donut (Approximately 307 calories)?

Or the 40 minutes on the treadmill you’ll need to burn it off?

Now, as far as cardio goes, I'd aim for more intensity before adding time to it. Here are some powerful high intensity cardio tips
