Quinoa

Why Eat Quinoa?

  • Quinoa is a seed that is ground into meal and eaten as a cereal. It’s also used in many recipes.
  • Quinoa was domesticated and used by the Incas more than 5,000 years ago. A common misconception about quinoa is that it is a grain, but it isn’t!
  • Quinoa is gluten-free and high in protein and fiber. It’s also considered to be one of the more delicious “pseudo grains”.

  • Many people are allergic to quinoa, but that’s because they’re probably allergic to another food. Quinoa doesn’t contain any allergens.
  • People who can’t eat gluten and/or wheat should use quinoa instead of rice or potatoes. It’s perfect for vegans and vegetarians too: it’s one of the few plant-based foods that contain all nine essential amino acids, which is great because amino acids are required by the human body for energy and growth; they also play a vital role in our immune system.
  • In addition, quinoa is rich in more than 20 amino acids and minerals such as iron, magnesium, phosphorus, cobalt and manganese.
  • More good news: It’s easy to digest since it contains no gluten or gliadin. Most people who are allergic to wheat can eat quinoa with no problems.
  • Hence why it’s considered to be one of the most important foods in the world!
  • Another big benefit of quinoa is that it contains saponins which is a natural chemical that eliminates cholesterol and can also stimulate the immune system.
  • It’s high in fiber, which helps to increase your metabolism and cleanse your body by removing any harmful toxins or heavy metals; it also helps you stay fuller longer too!
  • Helps you stay fuller longer.
  • It is a great alternative to rice or potatoes for people who are gluten and/or wheat intolerant since it contains no allergens, so it’s perfect for vegans and vegetarians too!
  • It’s high in protein that helps you build lean muscles and it contains ALA (Alpha Lipoic Acid).
  • Delicious, easy to digest and full of protein.
  • Quinoa also contains saponins which is a natural chemical that can eliminate cholesterol. It can also stimulate the immune system which makes it a healthy food that everyone should eat.
